Creekside Church sends water filtration system to Haiti...

January 18, 2010

Creekside Church purchased a water filtration system for assisting Haiti in their earthquake recovery process.

Followers of Faith and Outreach Missions Teams, both part of Creekside’s outreach efforts, wanted to do something long term for Haiti. They decided a water filtration system would be a great way to give a lasting gift of clean and safe water. Each team donated one third of the cost of the system and challenged the congregation to donate the remainder. The congregation met the challenge and more.

The Arctic Clear 202 water filtration serves as a small scale water treatment plant and is useful in small villages and compounds filtering up to 1800 gallons a day. The system is useful in a variety of applications such as missionary work teams, environmental cleanups and remote construction projects. The system is currently being used by firefighters in Canada, serving hospitals in Africa through World Vision and in Haiti serving in a Catholic Diocese. With minor maintenance, the system will last five years or longer.

The Arctic Clear 202 Water Filtration System is a product of the company Arctic Clear Products, Inc., located in Goshen and owned by Creekside member, Steve De Pue. “I wanted a business that served the community and the world,” Steve says, “it is satisfying to know that it saves lives, where it is confirmed that the patients in field hospitals recovered quicker and continued their health because of the clean water.”

Haiti fund...

On January 17, we collected $1,125.00 for the Haiti Fund. Combined with the funds that Outreach and Followers of Faith Teams donated we have a total of $2,415.00. If you would still like to donate to the Haiti fund we are taking donations. All donations made to Haiti will go to Haiti. Thank you for your donations and continue to keep the people of Haiti in your prayers.
