We are starting the year with a bang!!! We had our first meeting last night and we are off and running!! I wish you could have all been there. We have so many things planned and even more we can’t wait to do. The following events have been scheduled for 2010.

December 11, 2010 -- Cookie/Candy Walk -- Chair -- Doris Walters

We also are starting an organization of the quarter. Each quarter we will pick an organization to sponsor and will take donations for them.

1st Quarter -- Helping Hand
Helping Hand is a homeless outreach program in Elkhart County. They provide hygiene kits to the unsheltered homeless in Elkhart County. For the months of January, February, and March we will be taking donations of the following:

Shampoo, Soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotions, deodorant, moist wipes, Kleenex, and hand sanitizer – These should all be in small travel sizes.
Gallon size zip lock bags, brushes, combs, feminine products, socks, hats, gloves, scarves, blankets, flashlights, batteries.
They would also like donations to local restaurant like Mc Donalds or Gas cards.

2nd Quarter -- CCS

3rd Quarter -- St. Vincent Children’s Hospital

4th Quarter -- TBD

We are also in the process of raising funds for Haiti. We will be purchasing a Water Filtration System from Steve DePue to send to Haiti. Between Outreach and Followers of Faith we will donate $1390.00. We will be asking the congregation to come up with the balance of $695.00 during a special offering on Sunday January 17th.

Many events have been planned which means we’ll need lots of help from our church family. If you are interested in any of the above events, please see the chair.

Followers of Faith will be purchasing the following items for the church:

Extension Ladder
Large Trash Cans
Sauce Servers
Additional Rectangle Tables
6 gallon cooler
Possibly complete the storage location under the stairs to the media center.

Outreach is looking into the possibility of supporting the following with either a one time donation or monthly installments:

James and Monique DePue – Wyclff
Center for Healing and Hope

Our next meeting will be February 11 at 6:30 at the church. We would love to see all of you there.
