How
MMA Sharing Fund Grants Can Help
Carry
each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of
Christ.-Galatians 6:2
As a part of
my role as MMA Advocate, I would like to remind our congregation
about the opportunity that is ours through this program and clarify
how we can participate.
SHARING FUND
GRANTS are a part of MMA fraternal ministry resources that help
congregations meet needs in their churches and local communities.
Most grants are matched by congregational giving and are available
only to congregations with an MMA advocate. Sharing Fund grants
are made possible because part of MMA is a fraternal benefit association.
Dollars which would normally be paid in taxes can be used for fraternal
ministries for members and congregations. Therefore, purchasing
MMA products helps to make this money available.
At this time
27 members of our congregation participate in MMA's life, health,
long-term care, disability income insurance, and annuity products.
MMA provided $500.00 to support special needs in our church last
year. Please contact me for more information about these services.
Several types
of matching grants are available to assist with unusual financial
needs of individual members/attenders of the congregation.

You will note
these are "matching grants" which means MMA will match
our gifts up to a certain amount for funds that are contributed
to our The Fruits of Caring Grant fund. Those
persons responsible for administering the fund will explore the
specific needs and make a decision as to how much to assist them,
then matching funds would be available. In other words, MMA will
match what the church gives, again up to a certain amount.
Our congregation
is a very generous group of people and the monies that have been
given over the years has been considerable. However, if monies are
specifically earmarked for families/persons and not given through
The Fruits of Caring Grant fund, they will not be a part
of the "matching grant" monies.
We are asking
that you read this information and, if you have questions, any member
of the Team will be glad to help. Special requests for assistance
may be made to Deana Markley.
