Ralph Eugene Gordon, 79, Elkhart, died at 7:35 a.m. Saturday (December 3, 2005) at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born April 12, 1926, in Elkhart to Victor S. and Selena Emily (Truex) Gordon. He married Joyce Eileen Sriver on November 9, 1947, in Elkhart. She survives, along with three sons, Michael (Aundrea) Gordon of Norwalk, Ohio, John Gordon of Goshen and David Gordon of Indianapolis; two daughters, Vicki (Donald) Ellis of Elkhart and Pamela (Norman) Lewis of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Richard (Eileen) Rohrer and Donald H. (Sandra) Gordon, both of Elkhart, and Paul (Theresa) Gordon of Kissimmee, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Viewing and the funeral service was held at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home and Crematory, Elkhart. The Rev. David Bibbee of Creekside Church of the Brethren officiated. Burial was at Prairie Street Cemetery.
Mr. Gordon retired in 1990 from Whitehall Labs after 43 years of service as a mixer. He graduated in 1945 from Jimtown High School. He was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren, enjoyed bowling, and was on the church bowing league for 50 years. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Mr. Gordon was a World War II Army veteran.
