June 23, 1921 - September 5, 2006
Carol Maxine West, 85, of Goshen, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday (September 5, 2006) at Greencroft Nursing Center. She was born June 23, 1921, in Millersburg to O.W. and Madge (Ulery) Stine. On June 1, 1947, at Rock Run Church of the Brethren, she married Kenneth L. West. He survives, along with two daughters, Conalee West of Goshen and Jerilyn Ingle of Elkhart; two sons, Kerry (Gail) and Randal (Mary) West, both of Goshen; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Claire (Jane) Stine of Marietta, Ga. She was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Stine in 2006.
Viewing and funeral service were held at the Meetinghouse in Greencroft. The Rev. Dave Eis, Associate Pastor of Creekside Church of the Brethren officiated and burial was at Rock Run Cemetery.
Mrs. West had been a lifelong resident of the area, except from 1945 to 1947, when she lived in New Windsor, Maryland. She was in the retail sales industry, employed as a clerk and was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren and the Embroiderer's Guild of Elkhart. Mrs. West was a 1943 graduate of Goshen College and had been active in Heifer Project International and Camp Mack.
Memorials may be given to Creekside Church of the Brethren.
