EVELYN L. HEETER
April 8, 1919 - January 5, 2006

Evelyn L. Heeter, 86, of Elkhart, died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday (January 5, 2006) at Greenleaf Living Center in Elkhart. She was born April 8, 1919, in Huntington, to Elga C. and Ettie (Simmons) Miller. She married Roland Dodge on January 21, 1938, in Elkhart. He died July 12, 1956. She married Max W. Heeter on July 28, 1970, in Elkhart. He died September 26, 1999. She is survived by two daughters, Natalie (Keith) Davis and Judy (Steve) Jones, both of Elkhart; a stepson, Jerry (Frances) Heeter of Elkhart; two stepdaughters, Sarita (Dominic) Cataldo of Elkhart and Sharon (Peter) Strachen of Sacramento, California; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Viewing was held at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, where funeral services were held. David Bibbee, pastor of Creekside Church of the Brethren, officiated. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.

Mrs. Heeter retired from the marking department of Ziesel Brothers Department Store in Elkhart, where she had worked for many years. She was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Huntington High School.

Memorials may be given to Creekside Church of the Brethren or Goshen General Hospice.
