Joyce Gordon
October 18, 1927 - January 22, 2011

Joyce E. Gordon, 83, of Elkhart died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Vicki Ellis, in Elkhart.

She was born October 18, 1927, in Elkhart to Edwin Matthew and Lelah Adeline (Eaton) Sriver.

On November 9, 1947, she married Ralph E. Gordon, in Elkhart. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2005.

Surviving are two daughters, Vicki (Donald) Ellis of Elkhart and Pamela (Mike) Clauson of Indianapolis, and three sons, Michael (Aundrea) Gordon of Norwalk, Ohio, John Gordon of Goshen and David Gordon of Indianapolis. Also surviving are five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Verla Blough of Goshen; and two sisters-in-law, Sandy Gordon and Eileen Rohrer, both of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Jones.

Joyce was a member of the Creekside Church of the Brethren, Mothers of the Deaf, Elkhart Pinochle Club, Red Hat Society, Special Lifelong Friends, and The Holidays. She enjoyed crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Her favorite saying was, "I enjoy a good laugh, especially when it is on me."

Visitation was Monday, January 24, 2011, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home and Tuesday , January 25, 2011, at the Creekside Church of the Brethren. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at the Creekside Church of the Brethren, 60455 C.R. 113, Elkhart. Pastor Janet Shaver presided and burial followed at Prairie Street Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Church, ADEC, or The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
