96, of Elkhart, died Saturday, October 13, 2012.
She was born to her parents,
Joel and Emma Weaver, on April 29, 1916, at the family home in Foraker,
Evangeline was the wife
of Charles F. Stouder. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Also preceding her in
death were a son, Durwood; a brother, Joel Weaver Jr.; a sister,
Verna Hartman; a granddaughter, Taryn Nicodemus; and a grandson-in-law,
Ken Henderson. She is survived by her daughter, Janalyce Nicodemus
(Ronald) of Osceola; her granddaughters, Taryll Henderson of Mishawaka,
and Trysha Miller (Robert) of Indianapolis; her great-grandsons,
Joshua and Micha Miller; and her great-stepgrandsons, Timothy Keyser
and Ronald Henderson.
Evangeline was her husband’s
No. 1 supporter in his call to Christian ministry and dedicated
her life in service to Jesus Christ.
brought her the greatest joy of her life.
She graduated from Wakarusa
High School in 1934 and received a two-year teaching degree from
Goshen College in 1936.
She taught at Strycker
School and Cleveland School in Elkhart County, Swoveland, East Side
Concord and J. Elmer Peak in St. Joseph County.
Visitation was Monday,
October 15, 2012, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home,
Wakarusa. Friends could also visit for one hour before the 10:30
a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012, service at Creekside Church of the
Brethren, 60455 C.R. 113, Elkhart. Her life was celebrated at a
service led by her grandson-in-law, Pastor Robert Miller.
