Eileen L. Rohrer
May 27, 1921 - February 5, 2015

Eileen Love Rohrer, 93, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday February 5, at Woodland Manor.

She was born May 27, 1921, in New Franklin, MO, to Chester and Daisy (Sentz) Ryan.

On March 8, 1941, in Howe, she married Richard E. “Dick” Rohrer. He preceded her in death December 24, 2008, in Elkhart. She was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel Rohrer.

Surviving are a daughter, Diana (Richard) Kuhn of Bremen; five grandchildren, Danielle Rohrer-Garcia of Elkhart, Darren Rohrer of Leesburg, Dawn (Chris) Cubbernuss of Michigan, Timothy R. (Amy) Kuhn of Leesburg and Adam J. (Kari) Kuhn of Winston-Salem, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Aurelio Guzman, Isabele Rohrer, Brandon Rohrer, Rylan Kuhn and Aubrey Kuhn; a daughter-in-law, Diana Rohrer of Bristol; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Gordon of Elkhart.

Eileen graduated in 1939 from Elkhart High School. In 1941 she graduated from Elkhart Beauty College. She was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren, enjoyed crocheting and was an active volunteer with the Head Start program. She received a key to the city from former Mayor Jim Perron.

Eileen was a beautician in Elkhart for more than 50 years and was the owner of Rohrer’s Beauty Shop. She and Richard also were the owners of Rohrer’s Rentals in Elkhart.

Cremation took place. A celebration of life service will be at 4:00 p.m. March 14 at Creekside Church of the Brethren. Her cremains will be buried next to her husband in Prairie Street Cemetery.

Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to the church.
