I am excited
to join the pastoral team at Creekside in January 2011, in a quarter-time
position. My duties include worship planning, preaching, pastoral
care, and visitation. I have particular interest in Christian formation
of adults and children, and feel that spiritual discipline is an
integral part of Christian living. I am drawn to the writings and
practices of Celtic Christianity. Music, drama, and the visual arts
are an important part of worship for me, and I am committed to proclaiming
the Word through those media, as well as in preaching and teaching.
I have grown up in the
Church of the Brethren and served as a layperson and on denominational
planning committees. Brethren history, theology, and family connections
have played a significant role in my own formation as a person and
as a pastor. I have been married to my husband, Tim, since 1983.
We have three children who still consider Creekside their church
home. Before enrolling in seminary I was a free-lance lettering
artist, and I still enjoy lettering and design. I am also an avid
reader, a dedicated runner, and a fair-weather kayaker. Our favorite
vacation places are anywhere with sun, sand, and water.
