Volunteer
Fellowship
The
women of the church organized an Aid Society (later to become the
Women's Fellowship) at the beginning of the church organization
and were always unusually active. The Men's Work was organized in
the fall of 1927 and were always a vital factor in the work of the
church.
The Volunteer
Fellowship is the successor to the former Women's Fellowship organization,
begun in 1950. Because a large number of the women in our church
work outside the home, it was necessary in 1989 to disband the Women's
Fellowship organization. A
group of volunteers, both men and women and mostly retired, now
meets once a month at the church during the day and carries on the projects of
quilting, making comforters, postage stamps for relief, and bouquets
for shut-ins, as well as enjoying a bring-your-own luncheon.
